Jess & Meg’s Personal Story

Growing up, my sister and I always admired the way women could turn heads with their style—how a great outfit could change the energy in a room. Even when society made it seem like dressing up was “too much,” we never bought into that. We’ve always believed there’s no such thing as being overdressed. For us, it’s about showing up as the best version of yourself, owning your style, and embracing your power. I’ve always felt that the right outfit could transform you into the most confident, unstoppable version of yourself—and my sister felt the same. That shared belief is what eventually led us here.

For a long time, Meg and I struggled with self-esteem, though in very different ways. I battled with being overweight and often felt like I needed to shrink myself to fit in—literally and figuratively. Meg, on the other hand, was underweight for much of her life, and even though our struggles looked different on the outside, we were both hiding. We’d bury ourselves in oversized clothes, skip the makeup, and do whatever we could to stay unnoticed. We didn’t feel like we had permission to take up space, let alone own it, and for a long time, we weren’t sure what that even looked like.

We didn’t grow up in an environment where style and self-expression were front and center—but not because they weren’t valued. Our mom was a single parent who worked three jobs to keep us afloat, and she did it with a strength and drive that shaped who we are today. She didn’t have the luxury of slowing down to focus on clothes or trends; her energy was spent making sure we were taken care of. Looking back, we realize how much of that fierce independence inspired us. It taught us resilience, grit, and the importance of showing up—qualities we now carry into everything we do, including how we express ourselves. Still, it took time for us to find our own voice and confidence, especially when it came to style. For years, we kept ourselves small—not just in appearance, but in presence—until we realized we were allowed to take up space and be fully seen.

As we got older, something shifted. The strength we saw in our mom began to reflect back at us—and for me, that shift started with learning to love myself. Not just by transforming my body, but by transforming my mindset. I realized that clothes weren’t just clothes. They were a way to show up for yourself, to reflect how you feel on the inside—or even how you want to feel. Whether I’m wearing leggings and a crop top or stepping out in a dress and heels, the right outfit makes me feel powerful—like the most confident version of myself.

For Meg, the journey took shape in motherhood. As a mom of three, she’s made it her mission to raise her kids with confidence—not just through words, but through action. She wants them to grow up knowing it’s okay to express themselves, to wear what they love, and to be bold in who they are. Watching her create that kind of environment for her children has been such a powerful thing to witness. It’s not about fitting into a certain size or trend—it’s about feeling strong, authentic, and seen.
